Where are the screenshots saved on Apple Watch?

When you capture a screenshot on your Apple Watch, it is automatically saved in the photo library of your iPhone device.

  1. Open the photos app on your iPhone.
  2. Go to All photos under the Library tab
  3. and open the screenshots folder under media types.
  4. All the screenshots that you have taken will be here.

You should also be aware that you cannot view all your photos from your iPhone on your Apple Watch using the photos album. This is because the photos application that is normally on your smartphone will only sync the favourites album from your iPhone. This is done in order to save storage space on your Apple Watch. But if you want to view a particular photo or a set of photos on your Apple Watch itself, then you need to mark those images as favourites. Now they will appear on your watch too.

Or another method is to set Recents as the default album on your Apple Watch so that any screenshots that have recently been taken will automatically be synced back from the iPhone to your Apple Watch.

  1. Open the Watch app on your iPhone.
  2. Click on my watch present at the bottom left screen.
  3. Now select photos.
  4. Follow by picking Recentsnext to the sync album settings.
  5. And under the photo’s limit, select a lower photo limit so that it will prevent the internal storage of your Apple Watch from filling up faster.

Sharing and rating the screenshots taken on your Apple Watch is similar to that of any photo on your iPhone. So all you need to do is just follow the steps that you would do to share or edit a normal screenshot.

unable to take screenshots? Just check this fix.

If you are unable to take a screenshot. On your Apple Watch and it is failing to appear on your iPhone, then that is likely due to the communication issues between the two devices. In order to ascertain this, bring up your notification centre and there you can see a symbol in red colour on your Apple Watch.  This symbol is normally green in colour when there is a good connection available between the two devices. You can easily fix this issue by bringing the iPhone and your watch closer to each other and making sure that the Bluetooth and WiFi connections on both devices are active.

One more reason might be that your iPhone is lacking storage space to store photos taken on your Apple Watch. This problem can be easily rectified by Addressing the storage issues of your iPhone.

Conclusion:

Taking a screenshot on your Apple Watch is as easy as it is said.  But the only problem is with the Apple photos application sync.  To me personally, the syncing of photos screenshots between the iPhone and Apple watch does not look ideal. Instead, Apple should allow the apple watch to store its screenshots in the smartwatch itself without depending on the iPhone.  What do you think of this opinion?
